No Wall on the Waterfront

No Wall on the Waterfront: NO on B and C Campaign

ENUF (Eastern Neighborhoods United Front) is joining other San Francisco neighborhoods to support the NO WALL ON THE WATERFRONT and the NO on B and C campaign.

We are concerned about the impossible traffic being generated by waterfront activities and support efforts to curb more development that will make matters worse.

San Francisco just celebrated the opening of a multi-billion dollar bridge that brings thousands of cars a day into the city. What do they expect those cars to do when they get here? Why are we allowing the SFMTA to eliminate parking and create gridlock for all those cars we are inviting? If we don't want cars in the city, why did we spend the billions of dollars on a bridge to bring them here? This is a schizophrenic behavior on a grand scale.

ATTEND A HOUSE PARTY/HOST A HOUSE PARTY!

Be a part of our neighbor-to-neighbor outreach effort. Attend a house party this fall in your neighborhood for No Wall on the Waterfront and NO on B and C. Supporters all across the City are actively engaging their communities by generously opening up their homes to host a party to raise money for the cause and educate friends and neighbors. Come to learn more about the historic campaign to defeat Propositions B and C, to ask questions, or just to be a part of this exciting grassroots campaign.

With early voting about to begin, now is the time.

SF to visitor: Thanks for dropping by, chump

A letter to the editor in the September 18 SF Chronicle:

Parking Sorrow

As a fourth-generation Californian, I thought I was fairly familiar with traffic problems in San Francisco.

Recently I stayed in the city to care for my daughter who was not feeling well. She lives in the Marina District, not far from where my grandmother and her family lived since before the turn of the century.

I spent more time checking to see which days I could park on which streets than I did caring for her. My whole time there was spent watching the clock so I could move my car.

I did get one ticket, which I paid promptly, but I certainly didn't feel welcomed in this city that I have always loved.
